Dentures and Overdentures

lavar-protesis-dental

Dentures and overdentures are the typical “false teeth”. A denture is an artificial substitute for missing natural teeth and adjacent tissues; an overdenture is a removable (partial or complete) denture that rests on one or more remaining natural teeth (stumps) or on dental implants.

Our clinic and the laboratories that we work with at Mexico City, Cuernavaca and Yorba Linda California, allow us to make different anchoring systems to fix dental prosthesis to implant structures, so we can guarantee the perfect solution for each particular case.

Dentures and Overdentures – Post-Treatment Care

  • Do you wear glasses? Then you most probably remember the process of getting used to a new frame, and how the optometrist adjusted the temples and nose pads. With your new denture, the experience will most likely be similar: After a couple of days of eating, talking and laughing with your new teeth; your mouth, jaws, tongue and natural teeth will take some time to get used to your denture.
  • If you experience severe discomfort or even pain before your scheduled appointment, please call us for an immediate adjustment.
  • Dentures are very delicate and can break if they fall; always store them in their case/box and keep them out of reach for children and pets. Depending on the materials used, we will explain to you in detail how to clean and maintain your denture to ensure its maximum lifespan.
  • Over time, as your bone and gums are live structures while your denture is not, you will most likely need to have it adjusted by a professional. Of course you are always welcome to come in for denture maintenance.
